Since we did not get to finish our Ring-of-Fire for the remaining chapters (17-22), let's review here. Here is the who and what of what you will comment. This is divided by class and last name. Look for your period and the first initial(s) of your last name.
Period 1 (Character approach)
Last names A-C: Richard
Last names D-F: Ugwu
Last names G-H: Olanna
Last names J-Ma: Kainene
Last names Mi-O: Odenigbo
Last names R-T: Other Characters
Period 3 (Thematic approach)
Last names A-C: Multiple Perspectives
Last names D-H: Gender, Class, or Culture Norms
Last names L-N: Growth
Last names O-R: Identity
Last names S-V: Loyalty/Betrayal
Whoever is the first to comment in their group will begin the thread; those in the group who comment after the initial person will reply to that comment and so on (so they'll be grouped together by topic and group). You will leave two quotes AND some commentary that address the topic of your approach. Your group should try to spread out the quotes to include different chapters. So, if I was the first to comment, I might choose to include 2 quotes and commentary about how those quotes relate to my theme (or my assigned character) from chapters 20 and 21...but the next person in my group to comment on our thread would try and stay away from chapter 20 and 21 and include snippets from chapter 18 and 22). I hope that makes sense! -.- You should also be sure to indicate the chapter and page number of your quote in parentheses at the end of your sentence. HAVE FUN WITH THIS!
This page is intended to be a resource for our AICE Lit students. Our hope is that it will be a forum to share resources and have discourse pertaining to the research paper and our class readings!
